Candlewood Suites Richmond - South By Ihg, Richmond

The hotel had a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were very clean, but unfortunately, they were small with no living room area. There was an unpleasant surprise with some cleanliness issues. On the bright side, reserving with a card was convenient.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel and the great location just off the highway. However, the initial room I was assigned was not clean, but after requesting a change, it was much better.

Upon arrival at Candlewood Suites, I found the hotel to be in a good location, although slightly towards the south in a commercial/industrial area. The rooms were in need of a thorough cleaning, particularly the small kitchen floor, which seemed dirty. The service provided was friendly and accommodating, although the staff was juggling tasks like being on their phones while trying to clean the rooms.

My stay at Candlewood Suites had its ups and downs. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but I encountered an ant problem that I had to report immediately. The staff was nice and helpful, although they made a mistake with my room assignment initially. The location is convenient, being close to the highway, but it could use some renovation. The morning dining experience lacked variety in breakfast options, and there were some issues with the toilet paper holder. However, the hotel is across from a 24-hour Subway, making food easily accessible.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were very clean and well-updated, making it perfect for solo travelers or couples. The service was exceptional, with staff going above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The location was ideal for easy access to the highway and various amenities. The morning dining experience offered healthy dishes to kickstart the day.
